Foreign tourists in Bulgaria

(for the period January - December 2004)

In  2004 totally 4 629 854 foreign citizens visited Bulgaria, by 14.38 % more in comparison to 2003, as 13,56 % of them visited the country aiming to have holiday and for tourist purposes as per the data of the World Tourist Organization and the European  Tourist Committee with the European Union. The growth of tourists from the European Union (excluding the newly admitted member-states) amounts to 23.90 % in comparison to the previous year, which makes this region of paramount importance to international tourism.
